really, really good spot to get over the Andes to Chile and directly to Santiago. My original plan was to go South but I had no luck finding a car going there so I ended up taking an offer to go west. The employees at the fuel station are nice but the won't allow you to ask the drivers directly.

Ideal para ir hasta Uspallata/ Chile.Importante: no pararse a Potrerillos. Encontrar alguien que va directamente hasta Uspallata.

Not the best place to try and grab a ride, but got picked up anyway by a guy who felt sorry for me.―Anonymous

I got so insanely lucky here. 1212km in one truck. Stood with a sign waiting, many cars going in the right direction, the truck stopped to let somebody out and I asked him where he went and well 24 hours later I was in Mendoza―crazyrik

Quite a few buses coming back from Cacheuta hot springs, so decided to hitchhike, lot of traffic that day, it was public holiday, and got picked up easily.―santisaround

Good spot to go to Argentina, you can take a bus from Santiago to Los Andes and then from the center you take a shared cab to there, just talk to the people and they'll know where to find those cabs. Plenty of truckies on this road, got my lift straigth to Mendoza. At the customs they'll ask you for an adress in Argentina, just look to an hostel adress beforehand, they won't check if you've booked in there. Truckies customs close at night so be carefull not to get stuck there.―santisaround
